Photographers Playing on the Beach

This evening, Dan and I went down to Laguna to meet up with some of the 2Ps Photographers on the beach. Staci, Kim, Kristie, Carrie, Carolyn and Heather were all there to shoot the sunset and attempt some light painting.

The sunset was beautiful, and we got an up-close and personal show with a group of dolphins. They were literally just feet from where we were standing. You can see four of them here, but there were at least 5, maybe 6 of them that we could see. It was amazing.

Here was the set-up. That's Kim in the pink pants, Heather in the skirt, and Carrie next to Heather. We were at a great little spot accessible via the Montage Resort.

Here's an example of light painting with a "torch" (that's what they call a flashlight in Australia). My settings were f/3.5, 1.6 second exposure, ISO 200 on a tripod. Next time, I'll go with a longer exposure and maybe have someone write their name or something. At least I know how to do it now, the possibilities are endless (colored lights, sparklers, glow sticks)!

9 I love hearing from you!:
